Advanced Planning Brief to Industry (APBI)

This announcement is released by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Technology Acquisition Center (TAC), Eatontown, NJ, to notify industry of an Information Technology Advanced Planning Brief to Industry (IT APBI) hybrid event on June 17, 2026. The purpose of the APBI is to offer informative briefing sessions addressing Agency acquisition and IT transformation initiatives and objectives. Several briefing sessions with VA leadership, including but not limited to, Mr. Phillip Christy, Chief Acquisition Officer and Principal Executive Director, Office of Acquisition, Logistics and Construction; Mr. Zachary Schwartz, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Information and Technology; Ms. Chanel Bankston-Carter, Executive Director, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, and as well as other senior leaders from the Office of Information and Technology (OIT) will be presented.

There is no cost to attend this event or to view the live video stream; however, pre-registration is required. Registration links are separate for in-person attendance versus live stream, attendees shall use the corresponding link below to register depending on attending via in-person or live video stream:

Presentation of email confirmation will be required at check-in. Registration is limited to two attendees per company for in-person attendance and will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis until capacity is reached (1,000 seats). There are no limitations on live stream registrants per company; however, the Webex platform is limited to 1,000 attendees.
Final date/time for in-person registration will be 5:00 PM EST Friday, June 12, 2026.
All registrants completing the registration process will receive an email from Eventbrite containing the access link.
Parking for this event will utilize the Shenandoah Parking Deck. The Rappahannock Deck is available for overflow. Please note there is a parking fee ($19 for all day) associated with both parking decks (Parking Services - Parking and Transportation - George Mason University). Please be advised you must pay upon arrival. Payment can be made at the one of foot stations or via the Park Mobile app or by scanning the posted QR code. Shenandoah is Zone #4999 and Rappahannock is Zone #4901. Please ensure you select the correct zone. Payment is Visa or Mastercard ONLY. There will be parking attendants located near the garages to direct you to the Johnson Center along with signs set up along the path. Visitors are permitted to leave and return with their active paid time slot, provided their license plate matches the original entry. However, re-entry does not guarantee a spot if the deck reaches capacity.

Event agenda and FY27 contracting opportunities will be posted under the APBI Library prior to the event. The registration list, briefing charts and recording from the event will be posted within a week following the event.
