VA OIT Industry Day
WHAT
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Information and Technology (OIT) will host an in-person Industry Day to reconnect and strengthen collaboration with our partner organizations, fostering innovation and shared commitment to advancing veteran services. This event is jointly organized by the VA Technology Acquisition Center (TAC) and the VA Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU).
Participants will engage with OIT senior leadership, get knowledge about recent organizational improvements, obtain insights into OIT's IT acquisition strategy and digital transformation priorities, and comprehend expectations for vendor engagement and performance.
The event will be recorded and made available following the sessions.

Registration is required to attend. In-person attendance is limited per session to:
- 80 in-person participants per session (maximum two representatives per company)
- Limited virtual participants

Event Attendance Guidance
Mandatory Federal Building Security Requirements
1. The security checkpoint is located at the lobby entrance (Public WiFi is not available).
2. Arrive no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled event time to process through security.
3. Bring a valid photo identification that complies with the Real ID requirements. Examples include:
a. A compliant driver's license or other state photo identity card issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles (or equivalent).
b. A U.S. Passport or U.S. Passport card.
4. Do not bring weapons, vapes, or explosives onto the premises or inside the building.
5. There will be a magnetometer and a wand (metal detector) screening.
a. All bags and electronics will be scanned.
6. Upon entry, you will receive a visitor badge that must be worn at all times while you are on the premises.
a. VA Personnel will escort participants to the meeting space.
Parking Information
1. The Department of Veterans Affairs is unable to validate parking.
2. Hourly-rate parking is available at the building (Colonial Parking), with two entrances accessible on I Street and 7th Street.
3. Street Parking
a. Limited metered street parking is available on I St NW and the surrounding blocks. Be sure to check posted signs for hours, rates, and restrictions. Pay stations accept credit cards and the ParkMobile App.
4. Nearby Parking Garages
a.Several public garages are located within a short walk:
i. 900 9th St NW.
ii. DC City Center Garage (870 9th Street NW)
5. Rates and hours vary; most accept credit cards and offer daily/hourly rates.
Public Transportation
Gallery Place and Metro Center stations are a few blocks away, providing easy access via the Red, Yellow, and Green lines. Consider public transit to avoid parking challenges.
Rideshare Drop-Off
Designate 801 I St NW as your drop-off location for easy access to the building entrance.

- Arrive early to allow time to find parking.
- Double-check posted signs for restrictions and rates.
- Use parking apps (SpotHero, ParkWhiz) to reserve a spot in advance if needed.
